Join us on Zoom on Sunday, November 13, as Dr. Susan Benforado Bakewell presents Le Style Rococo: French Art of the 18th Century. Early in the eighteenth century, French art exchanged the palace culture of Versailles for the Enlightenment-infused urbanity of Paris. This talk looks at art, architecture, and artisanry from the end of Louis XIV’s reign in 1714 to the rumblings of revolution seventy-five years later, with a focus on the elegant and innovative style now known as the Rococo.
