Sunday, June 12 ~ 4:00-5:00pm RSVP by June 10 (Free for current AF Members, $5 for non-members)One of the most translated authors in the world, Jules Verne was an astounding visionary whose tales of adventures and exploration touched on topics from geology, biology and paleontology to astronomy, oceanography, history and more. These stories still entertain and astonish us today. Learn more about Jules Verne and his works in this lecture (in English) by Frederick Paul Walter.
In addition to being a longtime member of the Alliance Française d’Albuquerque, Mr. Walter is a scriptwriter, broadcaster, librarian, and amateur paleontologist. A long-standing member of the North American Jules Verne Society, he served as its vice president from 2000 to 2008. He has produced many media programs, articles, reviews, and papers on aspects of Jules Verne and has collaborated on translations and scholarly editions of nine Verne novels including The Meteor Hunt, Five Weeks in a Balloon, and a special edition of 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas for the U.S. Naval Institute in Annapolis.Click here to RSVP by June 10
